A huge part of FIRST's mission lies in utilising our knowledge to help innovate for a better future. So, in conjunction with this season’s theme, INTO THE DEEP, we wanted to learn how to better protect and preserve our oceans!
Why should we protect our oceans?
We at STEMfirst are lucky to live on the south coast of England, home to beautiful beaches and incredible wildlife. This season, we hope we can learn more about how we can protect and conserve our oceans to continue to preserve these wonders for future generations.

As the world’s oceans face threats like pollution, overfishing, and global warming, it’s imperative that we take action to protect them. Luckily, it's easy to start making a difference today!
How can you help?
There are many ways you can help protect our oceans: like by recycling your plastic waste to prevent pollution, organising a beach clean in your local area, or taking part in fundraisers to raise money that can be donated to one of many charities helping to make a difference.
