STEMfirst is a student-led initiative founded by Team UltraViolet. We’re a group of young girls who are hugely passionate about science, technology, engineering, and maths (otherwise known as STEM!), which we owe to our involvement in the FIRST Tech Challenge robotics competition.

However, we recognise that women and ethnic minority groups are still hugely underrepresented in STEM fields, which can seem like a huge barrier for young people wanting to get involved in STEM subjects. We’re on a mission to help change that.

Here at STEMfirst, we believe in the power of STEM education to empower diversity, inspire innovation, and protect our planet. And by inspiring young people to get involved in STEM, we can use these skills to help build a better tomorrow.
